It sadly seems to be true. It is rare not to be at war - the most intelligent of all species and that's the best we can do. A somber and sobering observation. The phot is stunning - the light! Wow.

Autumn does evoke the sombre thought such as those about war(s) and I increasingly wonder how we ever thought that there would never be another war in Europe, that the Bosnian/Serbian/ Kosovan + wars were just an aftershock of the very last European war. You articulate these sentiments so well Ain...

I wonder why, but looking back i think there have been war always... it is what we know to do, so maybe we need to look for those small changes to appreciate the seasons.

What a sad place to be at this time of year, Ain. I can understand it when you write that ’no number of bright autumn trees can ever change it; that the world will always be at war’. But there are always smiles – and they’re catching.
